The River Cafe wedding of Sasha and Boris was truly special. The venue itself is a culinary landmark and known for being in one of the most picturesque parts of Brooklyn.
I’ve been to the River Cafe a few times before, and the couple really fell in love with the wedding of Sara and Steffen that I documented back in 2014.
We started the day in the couple’s TriBeca apartment, and then headed to Brooklyn Heights for a first look and couple’s portraits. I love shooting in Brooklyn Heights and it’s an easy place to find quiet streets and magnificent brownstones as backdrops. We strolled through the cobblestone streets and made our way through the neighborhood to The River Cafe.
The late Summer sun made the garden at the River Cafe look incredible for the ceremony as guests arrived and took their seats. The chuppah looked amazing wrapped up in florals and backlit with the sunset.
During sunset at cocktail hour, I stole the couple away for a few portraits in Brooklyn Bridge Park. They climbed on the rocks and strolled through the park as the sun set over New York City and love was in the air.
The Jewish wedding continued inside the River Cafe with an epic hora and lovely speeches from family and friends. There was even some playful food fighting between Sasha and Boris during the cake cutting.
Expertly planned by Chelsea and the team at Brilliant Event Planning, the day ran smoothly and beautifully.
A huge thanks to Zach Teris for shooting this wedding with me.
Excellent Lev! Great moments !
